JOB TITLE: 1st Grade Teacher
SALARY: $39,746 - $69,610 based upon District Salary Schedule
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
CONTRACT HOURS/DAYS: 174 days/ year based upon a 4-day school week calendar
LOCATION: Alsea, Oregon

NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:
Alsea School is looking for dynamic 1st grade teacher to add to our staff for the 2022-2023 school year. A certified staff member under the general supervision the building principal performs a variety of tasks while focusing on instruction and supervision of students. Position openings will vary, based upon received resignations. Assignment may include teaching a blended grade classroom. Please indicate grade level preference in Letter of Application.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- This position requires the candidate to hold or be eligible to hold an Oregon Teaching License through Teachers Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) with the proper endorsement.
- Have standards of moral character as defined in OAR 584-020-0035 - “The Ethical Educator”
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in Teaching
- Three years of experience teaching in a public-school setting
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitates active learning.
- Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits and resources provided by the district.
- Plan and/or implement a program of study that meets state requirements, individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
- Provide appropriate feedback on work.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Assess and report accomplishments of students on a regular basis, and maintain such records as required by law and district policy.
- Connect well with students, families, and the school community.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary system of the school.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Demonstrate good instructional practices that are engaging, organized, and effective.
- Applicants must firmly believe that all students will learn and improve – create a growth mindset culture in the classroom.
- Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development.
- Participate in appropriate professional activities.

COMPENSATION:
- Salary: Based on District Salary Schedule Range: $39,746 - 69,610. Salary Schedule placement depends on education and experience.
- Contract days: 174 days/ year based upon a 4-day school week 7:30 - 4:15
